If you need help, the answer to your question is likely to be found on this page.
How do I register?
To get started you need to create an account, using your MTGO user name (so that you can interface correctly with the software on the site). For example my online name is Winter.Wolf. If your name has punctuation in it as mine does make sure to include that in the account name. A password is generated for you and is sent in the welcome E-mail upon registering.
I can't login, or I forgot my username or password.
If you can't login the first time after registering, make sure that you have finished the registration process by authenticating your MTGO account with Infobot. The instructions are in the same E-mail that has your password. If you are still having troubles, check to make sure that your "caps lock" key is off. Your username and password are CaSe SeNsItIvE. If you still cannot login, you can request to
reset your password or
contact us.
What is Player Type?
Player types are a useful way of describing how you play. There are some excellent articles online about this:
http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtgcom/daily/mr11bThe above link for example is perhaps the definitive one by Mark Rosewater at least for basic descriptions. There are also some online tests you could take to determine this if you want a semi-objective idea of what your style is:
http://www.okcupid.com/tests/the-magic-the-gathering-color-and-player-type-testBasically to break it down if you are serious about winning and don't care too much how you do it you are a spike. If you enjoy the building and conceptualization of cool decks you are a johnny and if you like playing with life gain, huge creatures and flashy spells you are a timmy. Not really too sure on Melvin and Vorthos but they aren't really as relevant.
How can I make my collection private?
My Apps -> Collection
After you have uploaded your collection a section will appear that reads Privacy: Hide my collection. Just check that checkbox and [Submit]. Your collection will be hidden from search results but you will still be able to utilize the power of the deck database features.
What is the search for?
The search feature indexes the following features on the site, profiles, decks, blog, forum, groups, albums/photos and badges.
What does the browser warning mean on the home page?
We are using a lot of cutting edge technology and code here that many older browsers don't even know how to process. While the majority of the browsers out there can handle things like HTML, images and limited JavaScript, we are utilizing a lot of newer features and functions like DIV, newer advancements in JavaScript like AJAX and a lot more behind the scene tricks to make this site run. That is why we highly recommend at least an Internet Explorer 7+ and Firefox 3.5+.
How do I import my collection?
My Apps -> CollectionThis will take you the page that will allow you to import your collection. From here just click [Browse...] then locate your exported MTGO collection file.
How do I find decks with specific cards in them?
You can do card searches using the search box found within the Decks area. Just do a search for the card you are interested in. The information you will find includes all the decks that run at least 1 copy of that card, a list of all the versions of that card and a list of all the players (who have set their collection as public) who own that card including from which set and which version (regular or foil).
What does the rating on a deck mean?
We wanted a way that people could vote on a deck and rate it. Just highlight the number star on how you like the deck. All results are hidden and can never been actually seen by anyone.
How can I find decks that suit my collection?
That's a personal question really. But, we do have a feature called Collection Deck's that allow you do see all the decks that you can run yourself using the cards in your. You may be surprised what you can come up with. This can be found on the main Decks page on the left hand side under the categories.

What are badges for?
Badges are one of my all-time fantasy dreams that I would LOVE to work with Wizards of the Coast to make happen. Basically what I'd love to have happen are achievement badges for in-game results. Things like, I just made Top 8 in this PE. Boom, here's your badge. It's showcasing the power of myMTGO.com to Wizards of the Coast in what we CAN do if we work together. I've been trying for a couple of months now and Michael Gills has told me they've had meetings about me, my team and the website. Nothing yet, but here's to hoping :DIn the meantime, if there is a badge you'd like to see designed, let me know.
